Santa Came...Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well today's the day...the start of the 2011-2012 NBA season. And look at the matchups we got today:

The Knicks seek revenge against the Celtics. Will Tyson Chandler give them a defensive presence they need to contend or will Rajon Rondo become the leader as Boston's Big Three continues to age?

It's a rematch of last year's NBA finals. With more experience and chemistry will Lebron lead his Big Three to victory? Or, will the defending champs continue their dominance with their new additions of Lamar Odom and Vince Carter?

Two teams who came up short last season face off. Will reigning MVP Derrick Rose have the firepower to win a championship with a healthy Carlos Boozer and newly signed Richard Hamilton? Or will the Lakers show they still have the talent to win despite their offseason drama?

The Thunder look to be serious contenders this year. Can James Harden prove to be a consistent and effective scorer to complement KD and Russell Westbrook? And how will Perkins' "big loss" impact his game? Could this be Dwight Howard's last season in Orlando or has management put the right pieces next to him?

And to end the night, the talk of the offseason "lob city" faces off against the prolific Golden State Warriors. Will CP3 be the missing factor needed for the Clippers and give them hopes of a championship? Will the young, but talented Warriors make a serious run at a championship this year?

Battle: Los Angeles...Not the movie

Ever since David Stern's veto of the Lakers-Chris Paul trade, it seems as if the NBA world of Los Angeles has switched. The Lakers are still a talented team, but with the diminishing bench (trading Lamar Odom and losing Shannon Brown to Free Agency), will they be the top L.A. team? The Clippers now have a superstar point guard in Chris Paul. But is "lob city" more talented than the Lakers? Yes, the Clippers have a very talented starting core, but one can also question there lack of depth. While the Clippers beat the Lakers both times in preseason, will they continue to be a championship contender, or will the wear and tear of the NBA season unveil there lack of depth. Regardless, which LA team is the team to beat in the West...Clippers or Lakers?
